Saline places second at Division 1 girls swimming state finals at Holland Aquatic on November 21

Saline had 15 swimmers and 3 divers qualify for the State Championships…one of our largest groups ever.
Diver Cam McPherson was chosen Diver of the Meet by the MISCA coaches (Michigan Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association).
Dive Coach Jeff Craig was chosen Dive Coach of the Meet by the MISCA coaches.
The legacy of the girls swim/dive program is impressive.  Since 2009, they have won the State Championship 3 times (2009, 2010, 2014), finished Runner-Up three times (2011, 2013, 2015), and come in 3rd once (2012).  They have only lost one dual meet in that time.  Many of these victories came because of the depth of the program: girls who didn’t necessarily stand on top of the podium but who worked hard and helped earn points for the team week in and week out.
Testifying to the camaraderie of the team, a large group of Saline swimmers who had not qualified for the State meet still made the trek through Saturday’s weather to cheer on their teammates.
