The Saline District Library has lots of fun planned for teens in December. Katie Mitchell, teen reference librarian said, “We will be getting ready for the holidays with our Holiday Lights program.”
The holiday event will take place on Wednesday, December 16 at 3 p.m. in the Brecon Room.  Registration is requested and you may register by calling 429-5450, stopping by the Adult Reference Desk, or emailing reference [at] salinelibrary [dot] org to sign up.
A glitzy glittery event is planned where teens will get to construct a winter scene with a recycled book, blu-ray case, and an LED light pack.  They will also be making glitter ornaments and decorating cookies. A bit of math and science will be employed in the construction but with such fun one might not notice.
Mitchell said teens will make, “Sparkling Crafts to give or keep!”
The department has a calendar full of weekly and monthly events.  Pizza & Pages is held on Mondays from 3 to 3:35 p.m.  Ages 12 and up are welcome.  Check the website for upcoming sessions athttp://saline.lib.mi.us.
Back by popular demand is S.O.F.A. or Sleep Over for Animals event scheduled for Friday, February 12 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. with a pizza dinner and a photo/craft activity.  Mitchell said so many teens signed up, “we have scheduled a second stay at Hotel Saline District Library.”
Teens are needed to come and ‘babysit’ the animals, so be sure to volunteer.
Mitchell said, “The Teen Department at the library is proud of their year round programming for teens.”
The library is located at 555 North Maple.  For information call 429-5450 or email Katie [at] salinelibrary [dot] org.
